I see no reason this couldn’t be accomplished generating the key in AE and exporting the video from AE w/ alpha channel. I really can’t wait to try it. Or am I missing something?

I appreciate that advice and had already considered that FASTER = BETTER. My real concern was a possible scenario where the overclocked video card needed driver XYZ to operate, but Vegas Pro only recognizes driver ABC, and crashes if it doesn’t get it. So my concern was in the compatibility area with these cards.

And finally, can I really run 3 monitors using a dual video card like the GTX-570 with a display port adapter? My monitor configuration with Vegas Pro is: 1. Project media 2. Main timeline 3. Preview monitor.

Anything I need to know if I decide to do that?

Thank you for that brutally honest answer. I am aware of the Quadro 4000 and it capabilities but have always felt I shouldn’t put that much money into a somewhat iffy upgrade. If the GTX-570 gives me noticeable preview and render performance improvement, I’ll consider the Quadro 4000 for my next build.

Regarding the GTX-570 card. There appears to be several different versions of the card with the same GTX-570 name on it. Some with overclocking, some with Gigabyte label on them, etc.. Are their any that I should avoid? Any I should look for?

This is pretty new stuff for me.

It doesn’t have to be multiple PCs, it can be the same PC with multiple activations. This has always been my problem with Vegas activactions, it seems with every problem the first suggestion is to re-install the software. And I may be wrong about 6 activactions, it might be less.

I am surprised that they didn’t respond right away, not sure what to make of that. But it will be an email response. They will give your problem a job number, offer suggestions to fix your issue and if you don’t get back to them in certain time period they consider the case closed.

This will happen when you exceed the max number of registrations. I believe to be 6, though I’m not positive about that.

go to this site, create an account, fill-in all the necessary info, explain your problem and indicate you have replaced your PC after a lot of problems and need the registration reset.

They should respond by email in 24 – 48 hrs, sometime sooner. They will probably reset your registration count and you get to try again.

Update!

I created a new Admin User account with the intent of re-installing Vegas 12 inside that account, the the PC warned me Vegas 12 was already installed. Of course that was the Vegas that was already installed and the one giving me fits. But before I went back to un-install it, I decided to give it a try. Vegas 12 started inside the new user account and ran fine.. ProType titler and all. As did my copy of Vegas 10.

So, the new user account provides an environment where Vegas runs fine, including ProType titler.

Does this discovery shed any light on the issues I’m experiencing?
