Extending slow motion clips
Posted by Angelo Mike on July 16, 2013 at 8:19 pmI have a bunch of clips that are in are in slow motion. I just reduced the speed of the first one and then copied and pasted its properties onto maybe 50 or more other video clips. But now I want to extend all the clips so that I see them to their newly longer end point now that they’re in slow motion. Is there a way of automating this or doing it without extending them one at a time?

July 16, 2013 at 9:44 pmAfter you’ve done your time stretch on one do a ctrl C to copy and then just hightlight the others and do a “Paste event attribute” which can be found by right clicking the event and it will be a drop down.
You’ll still have to shorten them but the legth and speed will be there.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

July 16, 2013 at 9:46 pmIt’s not the time stretch I want to change. I’ve already done that on all the clips. It’s the event length itself that I want to change on all my clips, because now that I’ve made them all play in slow motion, the event sizes on each of them don’t play the full shots that I took.

July 17, 2013 at 12:12 amThis can be done with scripting but not natively in Vegas. How long before you start doing this by hand? I was planning to do this anyway and could have it finished later on today (maybe in about 4 hours.)

July 18, 2013 at 8:58 amVegas is a bit weird that way… they did not put in simple features but they did put in a fully realized extension interface that we can all use to make those simple features ourselves.
The Set Playback Rate button will calculate the size of each selected event in relation to the new playback rate. If you want to play around with Black Tools let me know.

VASST Property Assistant will let you change the playback rate of multiple events AND optionally change their length to mach the new playback rate. It’s only $9.95 and will save you a lot of time if you do this often.
Just check the “Adjust Length” checkbox next to Playback rate.
