Hi Sean,
Since you’re in the middle of a job, Murphy’s Law dictates that you wait. 🙂

We don’t have a 2 Gb limitation with RAM in the Mac Pro, our Universal Binary drivers and any of the Multibridge’s. Load’em up boys!

Hi Chris,
What specification is the G4? If it’s a slower unsupported model, there’s a high chance of running into issues.
Are you able to get a video desktop when just in the OS X Finder?

Hi William,
The choice of composite or component outputs should not affect audio sync. Please let us know what your setup is.

Hi Paul,
You’ll find an application called “Blackmagic Deck Control” in your applications folder. Launch that and play a 10-bit file you know to be in sync and see if it makes a difference.

Hi Rich,
You’ll need to ingest the MXF file using something like Flip4Mac XDCAM. It will place .MOV files in your project bin which are IMX MPEG video. YOu can then use the IMX MPEG easy setups we have to configure your project.

September 4, 2006 at 11:26 pm in reply to: URGENT HELP NEEDED!!! problem with 5.7 Decklink drivers…..Hi Dave,
Try starting up while holding down to the shift key. This should disable the non system extensions.
If that does not work, remove the card before starting up, then uninstall the drivers using the “Uninstall Blackmagic” application.

Hi,
[Kurome] “We would like to get it Genlocked, but the blackburst seems to use the sdi output which we would like to use for monitoring. Any options?”
The SDI output can put out stable black video. It does not put out black burst. Stable black video output is enabled only when the card is put into capture mode which might prevent you from monitoring but you can turn this off in the DeckLink preferences.
[Kurome] “Another thing is that it seems to output a stuttery image (PAL land) and I have read some information that it has the field order wrong (or rather EBU has got it wrong and blackmagic is right… What arrogance :P) does it affect the output aswell? We use it as a third monitor through SDI.”
I don’t think there’s any contention about field order in PAL between EBU and us 🙂 There is a difference between PAL DV and Uncompressed PAL though. What format are you playing out of the card?

Hi Paul,
Is this Dv, 8 or 10 bit?
Can you try using Blackmagic Deck Control and see if the audio is still out of sync?

Hi,
The Multibridge Extreme will run a bit hot as the processors are heat sinked to the case. However, the fans will spin up to regulate the temperature.
