    hey there

have an issue where my digitized clips are about 2 frames out of sync on playback…when i play the clips in QT player they are fine its just when in FCP that the monitoring sync is out. there used to be a frame offset option in one of the settings but that seems to have gone in the latest version.

everything was working fine until i did the latest upgrade fcp 5.1.1 osx 10.4.7 Decklink etreme 5.6.2

can anyone suggest the source of my audio monitoring issues

    thanks

    Hi Paul,

Is this Dv, 8 or 10 bit?

Can you try using Blackmagic Deck Control and see if the audio is still out of sync?

    regards

what seems to be happening is that FCP is loosing which source to monitor the audio from. if i go into system pref under the apple menu and select internal speakers and then re select blackmagic audio the issue is resolved. but every time i leave FCP to go to the desktop or whatever this pref is lost and the audio is out of sync…going back to the sys prefs menu and repeating causes the audio to come back in sync

This is not a new problem, if you do a search you will find it was an issue with a number of people last year. I had a 3 frame differance between video and audio when monitoring video via component. I now monitor via composite and the problem seems to have gone away.

    Hi Paul,

You’ll find an application called “Blackmagic Deck Control” in your applications folder. Launch that and play a 10-bit file you know to be in sync and see if it makes a difference.

    Hi William,

The choice of composite or component outputs should not affect audio sync. Please let us know what your setup is.
