    Hi,

We are testing a Decklink plus to our system and have met a few problems.

We would like to get it Genlocked, but the blackburst seems to use the sdi output which we would like to use for monitoring. Any options?

Another thing is that it seems to output a stuttery image (PAL land) and I have read some information that it has the field order wrong (or rather EBU has got it wrong and blackmagic is right… What arrogance :P) does it affect the output aswell? We use it as a third monitor through SDI.

    Hi,

The SDI output can put out stable black video. It does not put out black burst. Stable black video output is enabled only when the card is put into capture mode which might prevent you from monitoring but you can turn this off in the DeckLink preferences.

I don’t think there’s any contention about field order in PAL between EBU and us 🙂 There is a difference between PAL DV and Uncompressed PAL though. What format are you playing out of the card?

We would like to use it as a third monitor and the cards settings are set to PAL 720×576. As I drag something to the decklink monitor side (notepad, some windows logo or whatnot)it displays as if the field order was wrong. We use a normal video monitor with SDI input.

To explain a little further; it should display a lower third message service onto the monitor. A chat window at the bottom of the screen to be exact. It is displayed from a normal windows desktop and keyed out with another program. By the way; could it be keyed out with Decklink keyer?

Now we have changed to the computer it would be used in during the production and we get nothing but black. It seems to output black video at the moment, allthough we are not capturing…

Running on AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    1 GB RAM
Nvidia 7800 GT w/ S-video out in use as the second monitor
Windows xp SP1 with directx 9.0c

    Does it require SP2?
