Hi,

It’s quite simple and you can use Media Express which is included in the installer download to capture.

1. Make sure you select SDI as the input source in the Blackmagic preferences located in OS X’s System Preferences or the Windows Control Panel

2. Launch Media Express and go into the preferences.

3. Select the project format that matches your video format.

4. Close the preferences and you should be able to see video in the preview window.

What resolution and frame rate is the video (1080i59.94, 1080i50) ? We’ll have to try it out here. As far as I know, this is not a known issue.

Hi Sean,

The Intensity Pro card will not be suitable. It does not have simultaneous HD and SD output. You’re better off with the DeckLink Studio card instead.

The card will majority of the codecs supported by Final Cut Pro such as DVCPRO HD, ProRes, IMX, XDCAM, Uncompressed etc.

We don’t expose a BMD codec in FCP as we use the ones provided by Apple but if you use After Effects, you’ll see our Uncompressed codec as an option. That’s because we do chroma filtering in our codec when you render so you get a much nicer image.

Hi.

In a multi card situation, Media Express will pick the first enumerated card to use by default. If you want to use the other SDI input, here’s a workaround:

1) Duplicate the Media Express application in the OS X Finder.

2) Launch both copies and make sure you set it to run in the background (from Media Express’s preferences)

3) Now that you have 2 instances running, one will use the first SDI input and since that SDI input is being used, the second Media Express instance should start using the 2nd input.

Thanks for the update and i’m glad you’ve resolved the issue. However, this is really weird that it works in Adobe Premiere Pro and not Media Express. I’ll get the guys here to check it out.
