[adrian finn] “My workaround is to open the file in a Hex Editor and change any text UYVY top 2vuy and then resave but this is not really a sustainable solution and seems uncessary given that the files are basically the same, just the description in the file is different!
Is a fix planned for this or any easier way to ensure captures in Windows / Linux play easily in MacOS X??
“I have an AppleScript that will do a batch convert if you want it. I posted a link to this app some time ago on this forum.
We’ll have to check if we can capture to the same fourcc as we run the risk of the wrong colorspace being used on Windows should we use 2vuy.

Hi Larry,
No, this is not possible. HD Extreme 3D is designed for 3D dual channel input, and the inputs cannot be treated as 2 discrete inputs like the DeckLink Duo.

Hi Terry,
When the card is capturing, audio does not get passed on to the system so you can’t monitor it via your computer audio system. However, the E-E output of the card will work so if you need to monitor audio and have a DeckLink card with only SDI outputs, you can de-embed the audio via our SDI to Audio Mini Converter.

February 2, 2011 at 4:37 am in reply to: Blackmagic Intensity flickers to black and then crashes FCPHi John,
The best way to tell is to move one of the known good guys into this Mac Pro. If it works fine, then the card in question will need to be RMAed.

Hi Richard,
Yes, you can. We provide don’t provide every preset (there’s just too many!!) so you can simply duplicate the Pro Res 422HQ settings and change it to ProRes.

Hi,
You should also get the crash log from FCP which is available when you open up the Console application, and send that along with a support request to our Support team. They can be contacted here:

The DeckLink Studio is a better choice. It has heaps of analog connection but the advantage is that it is PCIe x1 lane instead of 4-lanes on the HD Extreme which means you can use lower cost motherboards.

December 10, 2010 at 3:07 am in reply to: Lost Playback Settings In Snow Leopard UpgradeHi,
This shouldn’t be the case. The playback settings haven’t changed. Try trashing the FCP preferences to see if you can get the settings to refresh the next time FCP starts up.
