In your media creation settings under the ‘render’ tab there is a “same as source” box…. try selecting that.

    Thanks Matthew.

    We have solved the problem…

Interplay just can’t seem to handle the mix of Unity storage and a local storage array… which is how we are configured. Unity for Offline and transfer and local storage for the HD up-res/online.

I’m disconnecting from the interplay and unity today… should fix everything according to our Avid vendor. guys (who have been incredibly helpful I should say).

However, I have some words for Avid…. Fix this stuff before you sell it. Don’t release a Mac version that’s so full of bugs it’s not even funny. Work out how your customers work day to day and make sure your products can do that well. Get it together Avid!

Did any of you really think BMD would allow Aja to play easily? I mean, come on? Seriously? BMD are well within their rights to limit qualified hardware to whomever they see fit. For crying out loud, Aja is the direct competitor to BMD.

If you’re serious about using resolve then you build it to the manufacture’s spec. No one buys a Baselight and then complains because they have to buy proprietary hardware. This is the difference between professional end-user and “really wanna be a colourist”.

Flame away if you must but it really beggars belief.

    In addition….

Continally dropping connection to media indexer. I render files and they disappear afterwards.

Connected to a Unity and high speed local storage.

Media Mover works great. Been using it since the early 90’s. Avid’s own media tool is often not very reliable in comparison.

  • I think 12 channel audio is only available in HD-SDI output, so the cheapest option would be a Mojo DX. I’m outputting 12ch audio as we speak. Mixes plus stems to HDCam SR via a Mojo DX. Working well.

    Just a follow up…

We had some major buggy Interplay issues.

Avid kindly supplied a patch and now everything is going beautifully.

Correct, I did it yesterday…. editing in 108i/50 project, switch to SD25i, export OMF at Sound Editor’s request and then switch back.

Now why didn’t I think of that.

    Thanks John. 🙂
