I’m running MC 3.0 and I have over a TB of storage on a SATA drive. Does MC have anything graceful like the DS that would tell you exactly which projects were using what amount of storage, and hence where orphaned media was?

I just don’t have the time to plow through almost 4 dozen projects on the machine one by one, and I’m pretty certain that orphaned media exists on the system. What are my best options for finding it? Thanks in advance.

MediaMover, MDV, or MediaSift are third party apps that can scan your mediafiles folders and subdivide them per project.

You can also access all media from the Media Tool, simply select to display the media for any given project.

If, by orphaned media, you mean media that is unreferenced in a given sequence, you can open the bin with the sequence, open the Media Tool, select “media relatives”, and inverse the selection.

Media Mover works great. Been using it since the early 90’s. Avid’s own media tool is often not very reliable in comparison.
