Thanks Walter. I’ll do that and in the meantime hop on over to your blog. I just need to see if that brand is available here in Europe. I’m not familiar with it but I have been a pure Sony gal up to now. Thanks for your rematks about their new series of monitors! If/when you have time I posted a question on the Broadcast video forum and I’d be interested in your trusted opinion. I would have loved to post it here in the FCP forum because I value so many opinions here but was afraid to since it doesn’t only regard FCP.

I had to overcome embarassment posting the question since I knew the response would be a few simple keystokes. Now my toolbar is back. Thanks for the help!

    Thanks Jeremy,
that’s what I meant. My MacOS is in italian and I wasn’t sure how to traslate it! Thanks for the clarification. I have an XRAID and am freeing up half of it since I don’t have any other external drive available. I edit heavily so hopefully any problems of FCP 6 will show up readily and I’ll be able to claim back the disk that my clone is vacationing on!
    Thanks again, kim

Forgive me for jumping in…What happen Jeremy if I don’t use an empty drive? That is if with CCC I unclick the “Cancel destination drive” choice? Is it better to use an empty drive? I just got my FCP Studio 2 software and want to go about upgrading in the correct way.
    Thanks!

Thanks a million Jerry for the great insights. I appreciate it. I’ll do some more digging before buying anything.

Hi guys and I guess that leaves one gal….
You’ve got to be kidding about those stats? I’m sure there are other gals hiding behind some of those screen names, don’t you think? 🙂
Or maybe the gals just figure everything out themselves without posting (ha, ha!)
    Congrats Shane.
I’m on the other side of the pond, but wish you luck!
    Cheers!

Hey Mark, that’s exactly what I did in the end. Firefox for all minus the Cow and Safari for the Cow with javascript disabled. My fellow grazers are too important to not have close at hand, had to find a solution. 😉

Hey Mark, what I’m doing to get around the problem is use safari per google mail with javascript enabled and Firefox for everything else. At least that way I’m able to use the Cow. Strangely enough I had no problem for a couple of years until this past August. Certainly a fluke but for me it coincided with the new interface. I’m just glad I finally found how to disable java! Duh!

September 21, 2007 at 8:23 am in reply to: preferences disappear every time I close and re-open FCP

My results: I did a safe boot of my computer (restarting while holding down the shift key) and then used disk utilty to repair permissions. I restarted FCP and thought all was fixed since my preferences loaded perfectly. I closed FCP, re-opened it and was back to square one. Taking the idea from Bogiesan I used “spotlight” and typed in the fcp.plist file name Voil
