I finally have the opportunity to upgrade to FCP 6. My current system specs are in my signature. To get a better real time performance with Motion (and eventually Color aften Walters tutorials) would you reccomend me changing my current graphics card? And if so which one. Apple reccomends the Radeon 1900XT. Would you go with that hands down?
Is 4GB of RAM enough? Other main app would be Photoshop.

I have the advice from my Apple people but value perhaps more the Cow opinions.
    Thanks

Don’t think they make a X1900 that will install on your G5… the highest end card is an X800 for a dual G5. Takes a PCI Express slot for the X1900, and that means you have to have a Quad G5 or intel tower at least. The X800 is more card than you have now however, so your system would benefit from it. Motion, FCP and color like more VRAM than what your card has.

Thanks a million Jerry for the great insights. I appreciate it. I’ll do some more digging before buying anything.
