Update – couldn’t get this to work from Project Media pool using TIF files. Tried TGA and found it worked as described. Looks like I won’t be using TIFs anymore.

Clarification please – when you say media pool, do you mean Project Media or Media Manager?

[Mike Kujbida] “Ron, while fairly new to this forum, is no lightweight when it comes to NLEs.”
[Ron Shook] “I’m just a poor orphaned editor who’s determined to not make any more major mistakes in my declining years. Fat Chance!(g) I don’t think that we’ve ever met, have we? Something to be corrected in the future. Your generous teaching and advice here is most appreciated.

Thanks Ron – I hope you’re lovin’ Vegas as much as I am.

With a combination of drop shadow and glow from within ProType Titler, I came pretty close to your Cayman Graphics version.
Looking forward to 8.0a

Applying timecode to each clip will give you a whole bunch of clips all beginning at 00:00:00:00. A better option might be to throw them all on a timeline, add a new track above, insert and empty event and stretch it to the same duration as all your clips combined, and then add the timecode to this empty event. I often do this when faced with the need to supply clients with a window dub of their footage that contains timecode breaks.

Hi Gary
Thanks – V is cetainly quicker than the method I’ve been using – Insert/Audio envelopes/Volume. Which leads me to ask, why have we got two ways of doing the same thing? V and shift-V both add a volume envelope. It gets even more confusing when you look at the Cutomize Keyboard list.
shift-V is listed as Insert/Envelope/TrackVolume.
V is listed as View/Envelope/Track volume.
But if you select, via the top menu bar, View/Audio Envelopes/Track volume, you find instead of adding an envelope to the selected track, you are globally turning envelopes on or off.
Am I missing something?

September 5, 2006 at 10:26 am in reply to: B&H price dropped to US$99 for Vegas (exclu architect)I edited on discrete edit for years…
As a discrete editor of 11 years, I can assure you the transistion is not only possible, but enjoyable. My hardest challenge was cut-and-paste – didn’t get the fact that after you copy multiple tracks, the track you click on becomes the destination, and everything else happens on tracks below. Apart from that, the rest is pretty intuitive.

August 31, 2006 at 8:57 am in reply to: B&H price dropped to US$99 for Vegas (exclu architect)The box is no big deal, and the printed manual is a subset of the PDF. In otherwords, the PDF contains extra info that’s not in the printed manual. Always look on the bright side…

Power CG RFS looks pretty good, at less than half the price of Power CG Plus. Look at https://www.caymangraphics.com/Compare.html
