Maybe I’m misunderstanding the issue, but couldn’t you do a Select>All with the clips in the Browser and then File>Reconnect? That should work as long as the original logger used the same tape name and time codes.

Unfortunately, Title 3D does not let you directly set the number of lines to scroll per second, which you need to do. These should be an even multiple of the field rate, i.e. (in 60Hz systems) 120 lines/sec or 240 lines/sec. So the best you can do is calculate the height of your CG in scanlines, figuring that by default it’ll scroll by that total height plus the height (480 lines) of the screen. Then adjust your duration appropriately to get the speed right. Finally, tweak as needed. Emphasis on the word “tweak”.

https://www.adamwilt.com/Tidbits.html#rollsHope that helps you understand that there is no easy way to roll credits in software. I try to avoid them at all costs. Although it seems that they should be simple things to do, they are one of the most difficult to pull off well in a software based environment.
Just so you know, credit rolls are easily pulled off in the linear world with dedicated hardware boxes called CG’s or Character Generators.
I used to use the old Chyron VP-1 back in the day, but it had limited fonts, speeds and floppy disks the size of a large pizza! However, it least it gave me bullet proof credit rolls every time.

July 29, 2005 at 12:34 am in reply to: Xsan / Xraid or Rorke Galaxy HDX with imageSAN2 with FCP 5 and Kona2I operated on a 10 seat Xsan and within a few weeks felt fairly comfortable with the process of maintaining the system/using the Terminal, etc.. Once you’ve got it going, it’s a great solution. I second the need for a good VAR that can help you troubleshoot if need be.

Always dicey to use Time Of Day Timecode. Not recommended.

Export to QuickTime Pro and just use the Film Scratch Filter with that. Or don’t you know that trick? It’s all in the book, baby!

I always suspect drives first, especially if they are FireWire drives (they are not approved by Apple). Don’t you have a 2nd separate SATA drive you can move the media to?
If not, try exporting a self-contained QT, then reimport it. Lay it onto a new sequence, do an audio mixdown (set to High Quality) and output.

Scaling is vastly improved in FCP 5. I suggest you upgrade or do scaling in Motion, AE or even LiveType.

Art Beats also makes ’em. You could probably also create the effect with bezier splines in AE, Boris or Motion.
