    You can go 2 ways:
    1. Render as -> Main Concept AVC/AAC (.mp4) then
Template Choose: Ipod 320×240 or 640×480
this will give you mp4 files that can be uploaded to Utube.

    2. Rander as -> Quick Time 7 (.mov) then
Template: choices between 28.8 kbs to 3 Mbps
this choice will give you .MOV files playable by both QT player and MS Media player. This too can most likely to be uploaded to Utube.

January 2, 2008 at 11:35 pm in reply to: m2ts not recognised in Vegas 8 pro?!?

    I second the request!
Who should we contact at Sony?

I have a Canon HG10. The AVC files will import into VPRO8 and can be placed on the timeline, but when I try to play it from the timeline I get this error message:

“An error occured during operation. An Exception has occured”.

Then VPro8 quits. This happens with any mpg4 files (avc, M2ts, MTS etc). Could someone help please?
    Thank you,

When you boot up the Intel MAc it will give you a choice between the Mac or Bootcamp (when bootcamp is installed). Once in bootcamp (XP or Vista), if you want to go back to Mac you need to reboot. This is the only way to run Windows at Core level (Bootcamp is not a software simulation of Windows, it is actually installed as if on an Intel (PC) computer). You may install MacDrive 7, which will allow you to work with your Macdrive in Windows.

There is a software simulation of the OSs called Parallels, in which you can switch back and forth, but it is too slow for Vegas.

Only thing I can think of is that you have left a short segment either on the mean timeline or above it.

I have a 15 inch MacPro laptop (Dual 2.0Mhz). Vegas 8 runs great in Bootcamp and MS Vista. Just like a PC. I also use FCP on Mac Boot.

To Burn Blu ray in VPro8 you go:

Tools->Burn Disc-> Blu Ray Disc Then you have the choices of:
    -render Image & Burn BD
    -Render Image only
    -Burn existing image

and choice for Compression, including MP4 etc.

I actually burned a 1.5 hour BR image (18 GB). I burned the image with Sony BWU-100A and played it back with Sony BDP-300S. Both the Sony Burner and Player need to be upgraded with recent firmware upgrade from the Sony site, then they both work perfectly with homemade BD.

December 22, 2007 at 8:28 am in reply to: Capturing from Canon hv20

The device ‘Microsoft AV/C Tape Subunit Device’ could not be opened.
This message means your camera is not connected through Firewire.
I have an HV20 and it works fine with VPro8. Make sure that:
    1. in the hv20 in VCR mode the AV->dv is off (go into the mean menu to check).
    2. Make sure your firewire cable and board works. Sometime unplugging the FW cable and plugging it in will connect the camera.
The HV20 works well with VPro8 both in DV and HDV mode. In fact I am capuring with that set up as I am writing this.
