Your QT version is WAAAAY too new for that version of XDV. At best you should be on QT 6.5.2 or something.
7.4 is not supported for use with any XpressPro (which replaced XDV)
Media Composer 3.0 (released on Monday) announced support for QT 7.4.5
Also I think you’re running the wrong OS as well.

You’re just not able to see any video at all when you playback correct? What about when you’re not playing or scrubbing?

I don’t know of anyway to “turn off” audio tracks, but you can create a Timeline View with the audio tracks all really small (CTRL+K to reduce the size)

5.2 is a very old version, if you’re trying to get “HD ready” try a more recent version. Many bug fixes and overall enhancements have been made since 5.2
But, first I’d try lowering your screen resolution.

You can rename projects in Avid… you have to do it at the OS level, but….
an easier method is to create a new project and just copy all of the bins (.avb files) at the OS level from the old project folder into the new project folder.
You can also delete the project and you will not lose any media. The media is associated to the Master Clip metadata (living in a Bin) by Source Tape and TC. The project name has nothing to do with it. However, if you perform a Media Tool search or list the “project” column in your bin you will see the name of the project that the clips were originally captured into. Until you re-capture, consolidate, etc.

I believe the XDCam Proxy audio is 8k – in Import settings there is a check box under the XDCam tab to choose whether or not the proxy audio is converted to the project sample rate or not.
I have only limited experience working with XDCam so it may not be what you’re looking for but I thought it might help.

I’m wondering essentially the same thing.
I have cut a 20 min multicam interview down to 2 mins, but I’m now seeing that one angle requires a little gamma boost.
It seems really dumb to me to have to apply the effect to the Source clip prior to making it a Multiclip… this truly can’t be the way it is designed?

Nope… you’re not missing anything… well, other than that nifty feature.
I’ve been told that it was possible because Meridiens were hardware “boardset” based, where as the Nitris isn’t(?)
I enjoyed it as well and is one of the main things I miss from Meridien.

I think the hesitation is the upgrade cost of Sorenson. (BTW, I believe it’s only $50)
