July 16, 2011 at 10:58 pm in reply to: Recording BM MJPEG???

I was able to record HD-MJPEG with the Blackmagic capture program and with premiere on a dual xeon workstation with no problem. Then about 1.5 years ago it stopped working and I was not able to do it anymore even with a clean install and no other software on the computer except for BM and Premiere CS3. Now I noticed that the BM software does not even have the option of MJPEG capture…. any ideas?

I actually had a raid 0 running internally and it was very fast.about
380 MBPS read and write.. However after some experimenting I discovered that in my particular case raid 0 with 3 drives was much faster than a raid 0 with 4 drives.western digital sataIII 1 terabyte each.

  • I would suggest that you use your scopes and color correct using the cc plugins.. Just match the scopes.Scopes do not lie, they are much more accurate than the eye even your screen is a High End calibrated unit.

I am pretty sure win 7 home premium will support external raids.. You just have to buy something good and not go with junk…probably a good name brand pci-e raid controller card with cables and outboard case. All designed to be used together.

External raids can be a pain if you try to cut corners and save money on cheap gear.. Usually only the more expensive ones work properly… Just get a raid card and do an internal raid. They seem to be less expensive and are reliable.

If you don’t have quicktime pro.(which will screw up your gamma levels anyways)…….
When a client asks for a H264 quicktime you have to keep them happy.
I have tested this for the past few months and it works well.
To start click on FILE / RENDER AS.Then select MainConcept AVC/AAC(mp4)…Select a template or create your own… I personally do not select the allow source checkboxes and define the frame size and frame rate..After all your info is in create the .mp4 file… When it is done… change the file extension from .mp4 to .mov. Your video will now open up in quicktime (and Final Cut) and read as a quicktime H264 file with AAC audio. It will even fool the Macheads.. Ken-Postique

I just bought Windows 7 home premium family pack from amazon for $120.
3 Full licenses .. you just need an os on the disc to load windows 7 home premium 32 or 64 on the drive.. It is the full version and the old os is called old windows. So it is from scratch.. Microsoft sells it for $140 for 3 licenses on their site..
