Well there you go. I could have sworn I saw that box before but couldn’t find it and figured I might have seen it in InDesign CS2.

I don’t know a simple way with InDesignCS, maybe in CS2….but here’s a cool way it could happen:
If you can create templates in Illustrator or any vector program, save the file as an eps and import it into InDesign.
Then, when you print the document, under the Advanced tab and OPI check the Omit for EPS box.
What will happen is that the actual graphic imported into the graphic frame will not print, but the frame will if you have a border/color assigned to it.
I just tested this and it’s pretty easy. There may be a way in putting all the objects on a separate layer and having that layer not print but off the top of my head, I’m not sure InDesign can do this. However, another means would be to put all your die marks on a layer at the bottom, then create all the content above in a separate layer. Then, come printing time, just create a new layer between your content and the die and put a big white box over the page so your effectively covering up the die marks on the bottom without actually altering their state. That works extremely easily.

Have you called Adobe and asked them? Cosidering the price of the software and system you’re using, I’d make the $30 plunge. They don’t charge if they can’t resolve the issue and it’s actually attributed to the software.
I’d also try turning off the majority of your fonts and starting AE and see what happens.
If it’s the same, then the old Classic trick of extensions…..remember disabling one, restarting and such? Well, try that concept but with any extra plug-ins in the AE plug-ins folder. Could be a plug-in is interacting with the AE engine which is working with the new system and maybe some plug-in is causing a hang-up.
Search at the adobe forums and apple forums as well. I see more users of AE at apple forums than I do purely Motion.

It’s only in Illustrator CS and above natively. Otherwise, yeah you need a plug-in.
It’s under Effect/3D and extrude & bevel.

The first thing to check is that the actual font you’re using is indeed installed/activated. If you have mulitiple versions of a particular font, say Franklin Gothic as well as ITC Franklin Gothic but choose one over the other when setting styles, that can make InDesign think you haven’t got the font when actually you do.
Kinda wierd. But, copy the/a text frame containing the font and paste it inot a new document. If it still shows up in pink, the font isn’t activated.
If you have even just a space of one font that isn’t actived, the whole paragraph can show up pink if a style sheet is being used.
If the box pastes fine, then use the Find Font and replace the missing fonts.

If you mean that big shot of the trees and ocean… just draw a line in Illustrator, dupe it however many times and use Align to get them close.
Cut and paste the lines into Photoshop (as pixels) and use the Bevel and Emboss filter to add just a little edge and shadow.
YOu could also lighten the Level of the image a little.

Well, a sure fire way is to simply create a box the size of your page and put it at 0,0 coordinates. Then, you can align objects to that box and delete the box when you’re done.

Problem solved. I had the darn ‘mute’ actually turned on! The pop-up tips are misleading. It says “Mute audio (if any)” and since the speaker icon was in full blast, i figured that meant it would be on rather than muted.
I created animations eith text within AE and imported Static images. The video clips I put in didn’t have any sound, so I imported loops I had in aiff, wav and mp3 formats.
I have 6.5 pro and I’ve installed FlashMX Professional which allows me to export to the flv format. When I export straight to swf format, all sound works.
I was using the Render Que extensively and check Audio, 8 bit since this was solely to be played on a computer and that was what was screwing me up.
However, scrubbing doesn’t seem to work with mp3’s so maybe that’s more nomal.
I’ve tested quite a few cmops since then and I don’t seem to have any problems with the mp3 format other than the scrubbing preview.
