Kristian,
Thanks for the response. To be clear about what is going to remain available for PCI-X macs, which cards are going to continue to be available going forward.

I too wondered what happened to Response and thought that it was such a waste for it to go away, but now this? Man, next on my list was the Advanced Renderer, but I can wait a tad bit longer on that to get this module. Maxon is paying attention and this will pay huge dividends because as more artists use C4D it will in a very ‘trojan horse’ like fashion find itself in most of the major production houses.
This is an awesome development!

Thanks Noah. Yes, as I mentioned in the leading thread I am working on some business cards, and am working on them in photoshop. But, my logo was originally done in Motion, so I am trying to output the part that was created in Motion out as a 300dpi to be opened in Photoshop where the rest of the business card is already laid out.

Aw man! You’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve got to have Advanced Renderer to have Caustics? That’s jacked up, man.
You would know a workaround of some sort would you.
Thanks for the help Nolan. I’m sitting up watching the game and messing with C4D.

Maty,
I labored just like you last year over which 3D app to choose. After asking questions of some of the folks whose works I’ve been admiring, I decided to take the recommendation of getting C4d 9.52 (core version) and get the Advanced Renderer later. Then, any additional modules as needed. I’ve now had it since Oct.05 and have been taking my time learning the app. With regard to 3D, I don’t think there’s a quick learn in any 3D app, but of all of them C4D IS the best UI. I’ve enjoyed learning it. But, it is another discpline altogether. So, it really depends on how gifted you are. Practice and practice, experiment and experiment, tutorial and tutorial and I’m finally getting the hang of it.

I bought “3D Modeling with Cinema4D R9” written by Tony Alley and am about to complete that. It’s good and takes you through the entire program in a very methodical way. Easy to understand, too. At first, I had bought Anne Powers book “Cinema4D: the Artist’s Projects Sourcebook”, but discovered that it was a bit outdated (written for 8.5) though ‘excellently’ written, but now that I’ve nearly completed Tony Alley’s book I feel I can go back and workthrough Ms. Powers books with the clear update Interface understanding (which is the only difference). Of all of the 3D apps C4D has definitely been easier to understand and grasp. It’s just like with anything I just need to spend time with it.
Mr. Alley has another title due out (hopefully soon) titled Exploring 3D Animation with C4D r9.
I will be using C4D with Motion 2 and Combustion 4 (mac). C4D is a joy to play with.

Sounds logical to me.
I’ll look through the instructions and find out how to do that. Hopefully, that will work. If you know the quick instructions let me know.

I hasn’t worked but let me make sure I am entering the info into Darwin correctly.
You stated that I should open the Terminal and the (described) “one per line”. When you say “one per line” am I to take that as typing
cd[space]~/.Trash/[hit return then type] rm[space]-r* to delete everything in the Trash.
What would be the command line for deleting a Folder from the Desktop? That’s where the problem is because the Folder in the trash says that this Folder is in use because it is on the Desktop.

Curtis,
I’ve tried to use the info (which was extensive) but it seems that my problem may be unique or I haven’t seen the area that addresses it.
Let me decribe the problem. On the Desktop is copy of a folder (with no contents in it) that was accidently copy-created while trying to drag the original folder to the Trash to be deleted. This may have happened because everytime I tried to move the Original Folder barely moving it caused the ‘spinning’ wheel to appear. So, I believe an accidental copy was created on the Desktop somehow. In the trash is the FOLDER I am trying to delete that won’t delete. In addition to the error message I described in the 1st post it says that the Foder cannot be deleted because the Folder is in use – making reference to the Folder on the desktop that I can’t move without the spinning wheel showing up and stopping all progress.
Man, I don’t know how to come at this. This is the 1st time I’ve had a corrupted item on my system like this.
Any ideas?
