    Say Curtis,

This is most serious what you have revealed 🙂 Hopefully one of the suggestions will work for me. I will post back if it does. Thanks.

    Hi Graeme,

I haven’t had a problem with Motion so far, but I won’t have an opportunity to really play with it until later this evening. I had some files that I opened that was part of a motion menu design job that I’m working on in DVDSP4. I played it back with no problems so far.

We’ll see later on when I have to work in more extensively.

    Thanks Jean-Pierre (I think that’s you, right?),

Along with your input MAXON said the same thing. This definitely helped. Now things move so much more smoothly. I’ll also make note of the other directives you point out. Now if someone can help this author articluate instruction properly I’ll be ok.

October 15, 2005 at 9:05 pm in reply to: Decklink vs AJA Kona

I too am looking at the Multibridge Studio. I’ve heard good and bad about both companies. For me it’s boiling down to cost because there are reputable organizations/facilities using both. I’ve not heard of any mission critical errors being committed by either company which is the main issue for me,

All of the jocking aside. BMD Decklink HD Pro pricing is pretty hard to deny at this point, and the second iteration of HDLink appears to be dead-on as well. As far as AJA is concerned I like the fact that they have a close relationship with Apple. It’s a toss up.

The Multibridge Studio concept takes it to another level.

    Thanks again.

What are you using? The Studio or XL 9.5?

I visited your webiste. You guys do great stuff.

My company is into live performance visuals for live concerts. Visuals that are splashed on jumbotrons and huge LED screens. At least, that’s where we are going. We’ve been videotaping concerts and authoring/designing DVDs. You have any advice on fastrack learning of C4D for logo-broadcast design work, etc?

    October 14, 2005 at 4:22 pm in reply to: C4D XL v.7.3

I appreciated your comments yesterday and went back to Maxon and they have agreed to allow me to return the unopened v7.3 XL for the current R.9.5 Basic of C4D. I figure that even though I don’t have the Advanced Renderer Module I can make up a little of the lighting and such with Combustion.

    Thanks

Well, I commited to the purchase and I looked in the galleries of those who have used and it looks good enough to get me going in the direction of 3D. From what I gather the the XL 7.3 still bring a bit of the power I need until I can upgrade into r9.5.

    We’ll soon see.

October 8, 2005 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Boris acquisition of M100 appears to be official

Yes. This would be interesting indeed. My MAC G5 is more of mulit-application workstation than ever before. Not only do I have Final Cut Studio applications running, but I have Autodesk Combustion, Photoshop and a host of plugs. Not to mention, I’m adding more audio functionality that allows to start and finish a project on one workstation. Even Digital Intermediate and color correction with MAC specific apps like Silicon Color’s Final Touch HD.

A board that is capable of delivering in this type of envirnoment would be welcome and is one reason why AJA and Black Magic have done so well. I beleive that this space would welcome the HDX boardset.

    Steve,

Do you think it possible that the HDX board could be made to be an I.O board ala Kona/Decklink for Final Cut Pro?

That would be interesting. If the cost were right I would be interested in such a product.

    Steve,

will this ultimately mean that the powerful boardset that made up the power of 844x and was incorporated into M100 HD continue to grow with Boris FX and all incorporated into future machines and software?
