I’m about to take delivery on C4D r9.5. I’ve downloaded the demo version to begin to play with the program.
I also downloaded the Quickstart PDF tutorial from Maxon (It’s kind of confusing at points, it’s like the author refers to things he hasn’t said yet or something).

Anyway, I have a Wacom Intuos3 (4×5) tablet and wonder if any of you guys use it with C4D. I was following directions in the tutorial to select the zoom (point of view) icon to ‘zoom’ out and when I used the pen to tap on this icon it zoomed in so far that the cube I had in the screen zoomed out of perspective. Now, I’m just trying to get the perspective back and I’m wondering if there is a reset ‘point of view’ or something to get me back. I was able to zoom in but I don’t see how to zoom out and reverse what I’ve done. This one error totally shut me down with the Tut and I’m wondering if I should be using the pen tablet.

Is there a reset point of view and is it cool to use pen tablets?

When using a tablet, make sure that you have ‘Graphic Tablet’ turned on in the
    Edit>Preferences>Common menu

To undo your view action, you need to go to the Edit menu of the View window, and not use the normal Undo function ( the Viewport are kept separate).

Also, default the following Hotkeys are mapped to the mouse (or pen) to navigate in teh viewport:
    Alt+LeftMouseButton Rotate Camera
    Alt+MMB Pan Camera
Alt+RMB Scale Camera ( zoom in and out)

    Thanks Jean-Pierre (I think that’s you, right?),

Along with your input MAXON said the same thing. This definitely helped. Now things move so much more smoothly. I’ll also make note of the other directives you point out. Now if someone can help this author articluate instruction properly I’ll be ok.
