When this happened to me I was able to use iPhoto Extractor and got it back. It’s located at:

Thank you, Mitch. And, everyone who chimed in on this thread. I do plan to take all of the advice outlined. I’ll probably upgrade to Final Cut Studio on this v10.3.9 and sit still until everything shakes out.

I’ve got to buy all of this (drvies and all) anyway. I’m sure this thread has helped other as well. I hope.

Macfixit put this out today as well: https://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20050429000534549

    Craig,

Let me be sure I understand how this would work. I get an external drive like a G-RAID or whatever. I then select from my desktop the MAC HD and duplicate it then paste it to the new external drive and everything on the MAC HD will be copied to the the external? Or, is there a more definitive procedure I would need to follow.

My apologies, I’m not a systems guy. I’m used to plug and play in setup.

Can you recommend a simple little extrenal drive that could be used for backup of MAC HD? I’m in the process of evaluating some of the low-cost RAID solutions (eg. Huge, G-Tech, etc) for my ultimate storage solution.

Thanks for the outline. I don’t have an additional drive. I may have to wing it. I’ve managed to maintain my system with no problems so far.

Disk Warrior is on my list of things to get though.

I’m already on order for the OS. I guess it’s going to take a fews short weeks for feedback to roll in anyway. Of which, I will probably be able to read about hear and other places. Just a little nervous though. My 2Ghz G5 has been running great with no problems up to this point.

I don’t know. Are you just going to buy the upgrade and do it? Nothing to it?

I ran into this problem a couple of times when I was capturing from my DVX100A camcorder directly into FCP HD. If I remember correctly I had to manually capture that particluar clip. I hope I’m breaking any rules, but DVXuser.com is where most of the DVX gurus are. It’s where I get answers for the camera, everything else I get over here.
