Do you have a fix for Sony vegas V12 64 bit, cause not being able to import avi’s is still an issue.

Having put all the editing on hold for quite some time, I am back into it again and still having this issue with the AVI’s

If not, I would use the 32-bit version of Vegas to render the files to MJPEG because editing MPEG4 in an AVI container is not recommended”

I have installed that codec and are still having issue. I have the 64 bit version so is there a codec that works with the 64bit version that can be a fix to this issue?

Having to import the AVI into windows media and then rendering them there and then adding them to vegas is really reducing their quality.

yeah worked out it was a user issue, meaning me as a user having an issue. I had checked the box to match the files for rendering and so I only had a small selection. Didn’t realise I had done that.

Ok so just checking in what you said Steve and John. When I am in Vegas about the video there is the project video properties drop down box where you can choose which format you want the video in. Which do I pick from that drop down box for the settings. At the moment I have HDV 720 – 24p, 23.976 fps and then if I pick the main concept option it renders the video to be 19gb for 7 minutes which ends up being way to big for youtube. Is it possible I am doing something wrong or is that sizing right for that length of video.

I know Aleksey mentioned the internet in HD option only I don’t have that, I only have the internet 360 or 480 but they aren’t in HD so the quality of the video is really bad.

I have since changed the DLL file back to the original form because I thought that might be the reason for my files going out of sync when I render them. I have also upgraded to V11.

So I am guessing if I am still having issues with AVIs then the way to go now would be to install this codec X264vfw and go from there.

Thanks for the extra info Stephen. I am using my local webcam to record and it automatically saves the recordings in WMV format. It looks file in the time line. Perfect in fact

Vegas 11 needs even more processor power.” I have a new pc with a great processor so i know it’s not the PC and I render fine when i use the HDV 1080-60i (1440×1080, 29.970 fps) settings. The issue comes when I have created my file using that setting and then render it as a Internet 360-30p 16:9 (640×360, 29.970 fps). This is when it goes out of sync and choppy.

So I need to import my MWV file render it as Sony AVCHD and then import it again and do the video editing with the AVI file I also have to create my videos.

I have two files one WMV and the other AVI to put into the same video.

I’m not sure what you mean by editing Mpeg4 in an AVI container is not recommended. The AVI recording I have is from skype telecorder. When I import the AVI its not a consistant stream of image the image pixilates in various areas. Do I install the x264vfw codec and render as a MPEG4 or render as something else?

I have an AVI file and WMV file to format together and I now have sony V11 32bit. I want to render the video so it is small enough to be downloadable for people as it is a 1hr video. So I was thinking of rendering it as the main concept internet 360 option and editing the file as Internet 360-30p 16:9 (640×360, 29.970 fps).

Would you suggest this as an option?

Also I have two video files that I bring together one is an AVI and the other is a WMV. Now do i have to change the WMV to an AVI and if so what is the easiest way to do that?
