Render as sony MP4 keeps going out of sync

Your source video is 23.976 so try changing your render properties to the same thing (23.976 (IVTC Film) and see if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I have done that and it is still out of sync.

It a video with two different videos that i am connecting together.
you can see a sample of what i am doing on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/kayleygraceshow. These are example of the 1 hr videos i am creating.

My side, the one on the left stays in sync, but it’s the other side the one on the right that is going out of sync.

It works when i save it as a wmv file, but with the sizing 1440 it’s to big to save and upload to my server for download as the full videos are 1 hr long.

So i want to reduce it to the 480*360 size. when i make it an mwv and 480*240 the image goes all fuzzy and looks really bad or the lining up of the videos changes out of alignment.

sony Mpeg4 seems to be the only one that doesn’t go fuzzy.

I rendered one that worked as a sony mpeg4 480*360 with an imported video that is an avi. The issue seems to be when the imported video is a wmv.

I have followed a few fixes on the forum for syncing issues and I haven’t found a solution yet. Does anyone have any other ideas about why WMV files have issues syncing with sony Mpeg4?

I’ve experienced something similar myself and verified it for a poster on the SCS forum. Encoding WMV (you don’t “render” WMV, you encode it) always results in an audio track different in length from the video track. (I tested it in V10) But, since I’ve never had a client ask for WMV files, it’s never been a problem.

What do you suggest I render in Stephen? I need to take the HD1440 file and make it into a video file that can easily be downloaded.
I’ve installed Vegas 11 and that doesn’t seem to have helped. Actually thats made it worse. now the files are all choppy and jumping all over the place. Atleast before they were only out of sync now they are unviewable.

You said that the source file is WMV, so I suspect the problem is there. Where is the wmv file coming from? How does the wmv file look playing on the timeline?

If the playback is choppy, then your PC is probably underpowered for the task. Vegas 11 needs even more processor power. But, this has nothing to do with your sync problem.

WMV is not popular at all. The delivery format of choice would be MP4 using the Sony AVCHD encoder in the “Render As” menu.

But first, make sure the source file isn’t the source of your problem.

Thanks for the extra info Stephen. I am using my local webcam to record and it automatically saves the recordings in WMV format. It looks file in the time line. Perfect in fact

Vegas 11 needs even more processor power.” I have a new pc with a great processor so i know it’s not the PC and I render fine when i use the HDV 1080-60i (1440×1080, 29.970 fps) settings. The issue comes when I have created my file using that setting and then render it as a Internet 360-30p 16:9 (640×360, 29.970 fps). This is when it goes out of sync and choppy.

So I need to import my MWV file render it as Sony AVCHD and then import it again and do the video editing with the AVI file I also have to create my videos.

I have two files one WMV and the other AVI to put into the same video.

I am having the same sync problem with footage that is imported as MP4, and then rendered as MP4.

Solution found: close everything down. Shut down the computer. Reboot. Re-render. All fine.

I also had this problem.

Although I wish I know what caused it, I resovled it by using the Main Concept MP4 template.

Can anyone shed some light as to why the Sony mp4 is causing a sync problem?
