What do you suggest I render in Stephen? I need to take the HD1440 file and make it into a video file that can easily be downloaded.
I’ve installed Vegas 11 and that doesn’t seem to have helped. Actually thats made it worse. now the files are all choppy and jumping all over the place. Atleast before they were only out of sync now they are unviewable.

I have followed a few fixes on the forum for syncing issues and I haven’t found a solution yet. Does anyone have any other ideas about why WMV files have issues syncing with sony Mpeg4?

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I have done that and it is still out of sync.

It a video with two different videos that i am connecting together.
you can see a sample of what i am doing on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/kayleygraceshow. These are example of the 1 hr videos i am creating.

My side, the one on the left stays in sync, but it’s the other side the one on the right that is going out of sync.

It works when i save it as a wmv file, but with the sizing 1440 it’s to big to save and upload to my server for download as the full videos are 1 hr long.

So i want to reduce it to the 480*360 size. when i make it an mwv and 480*240 the image goes all fuzzy and looks really bad or the lining up of the videos changes out of alignment.

sony Mpeg4 seems to be the only one that doesn’t go fuzzy.

I rendered one that worked as a sony mpeg4 480*360 with an imported video that is an avi. The issue seems to be when the imported video is a wmv.

Thanks John for the suggestion. I still have the old dll file so i can always change it back to the original one if I need to.
I’ve also read posts that installing codecs is a bad idea because it changes your whole system and you don’t know what the new codec is going to do.

I’m not really sure which path is the best way to go, this one seems to have worked for now and I appreciate your advice. If I have any issues I’ll remember to change it back look at installing the codec you suggested.

Fingers crossed it will all work fine now.

Solution found go to this thread and follow the instructions if you find yourself with a codec error.

And for those that don’t realise where the AVIplug.dll file is go into your c:\program files\sony\Vegas Pro \
search for the fileIO plugins open it.
Then open the aviplug file and in there you will find the AVIplug.dll

Then follow Daves instructions.

I also found a post where you suggested having a look to see if the video played in Gspot and what happened under the MS A/V 1 & 2 buttons. The video does play in Gspot.
When I click on the 1 I get the following message
Render OK. The following combination of filters was used:
(Src)–>>–(A)–>[AVI splitter ]>–(B)–>[Mpeg4 Decoder DMO ]>–(C)–>
(Src)–>>–(A)–>[AVI splitter ]>–(B)–>[MP3 Decoder DMO ]>–(C)–>[Default Direct Sound Device ]

The audio codec is 0x0055 (MP3)
The video codec is MPG4 MS MPEG-4 v1

Hope that helps in figuring out what is happening with the files when i try to import them.

Thanks John, I didn’t know that is what avi meant.
I have installed gspot and have checked the file and it says codecs installed under status and the codec is MPG4.

What do I do now? Do i install a MPG4 codec.

Funnily enough the video that is working in vegas says Codec Status Undetermined under status and has it as a WMV3.

Hi Steve,
I am using Sony vegas Pro 10.0e (build 738)64-bit.

I recorded a video using replay telecorder for skype which are saved on my hard drive as Video Clip (.avi)
