Yup that was all set fine. I fiddled a bit with it and clicked on the red circle in the audio tab on the left called Arm for record and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Thank you for the response Steve. I can’t see where control panel is. Is it in the options in the menu bar along the top?

Ok I figured out what I was doing wrong. I didn’t realize that if I put the chroma keyer into the video image that plays to the right then it will chroma keyer all the videos.
because of this and because none of the other videos had been set for a green screen it was taking the background of the other videos which is black.
So now I think I have it working. Thanks John.

Yup John I agree that is what it should look like only it’s not.
I have started a new project, have gone through all the steps.
Added Chroma keyer to the video by dragging over to the video window.
Used the colour selector to select the right green
Clicked show mask only then
Changed the threshold to get the black and white split.
Unclicked show mask only.
Added by back ground video below the green screen videoThen where the green screen is now black is what stays so it doesn’t become a transparent background showing the below image it stays as a black background.
Does that make more sense?

Yes of course John That’s what I thought I was doing only it didn’t seem to work that way.
How do I do that? If I click on the file upload and then add the file it takes me to a post, do I add the details and click post?

Hi James thanks for the question – it’s unclicked.

I have the video on the top and the image as the background on the bottom. Isn’t that the correct way.
The blue you can see is the background, then there’s me. The black you see is where the green screen was and is meant to be invisible only it’s stayed solid black.

March 15, 2013 at 7:17 am in reply to: Vegas 12 now crashing every time I make a changeThat is weird cause when I go into my task manager there is only 1 showing in the processes so I don’t know how to get rid of two when it’s only showing 1.

March 15, 2013 at 3:28 am in reply to: Vegas 12 now crashing every time I make a changeNope I haven’t Stephen, and in the past I’ve had more than one vegas running and it’s all worked fine. .
I do think I may have found a solution – I went with my instincts and have uninstalled all the windows updates and it now, fingers crossed seems to be working ok.
Also started a completely new project from scratch in case there was a bug in the last one with a video file or something like that.
So far so good. Have been working on vegas for the last 20 mins and its still working.
