August 25, 2008 at 8:57 pm in reply to: Contacting Planners/Coordinators for new businessOne mistake I made when I started doing weddings was thinking that I could start off by offering elaberate wedding packages for a little money to build up a big client base, and then charge more when I start getting all the referals. The only problem was, the referals still want the cheap prices I originally offered and I wouldn’t get the jobs. Get used to hearing, “Well you did it for my friend for only this much”.
Plus, most people using a wedding planner aren’t on a tight budget so marketing yourself as the cheap guy to the wedding planner my not get you too much business.

Paul,
You can copy & paste clips from the premiere timeline to the AE timeline (if they are both open). YOu can also import a Premiere project the same as you import any other file. the help menus for AE and Premiere have plenty of info on the subject. -
there is music licensing company called Zoom https://www.zoomlicense.com/
that allows you to use license music for around $5 per song and it’s good up to 25 dvds. It’s geared toward wedding video, corporate and presentations. And it’s not just studio music…. they have hit songs as well. -
When you say sub-chapter, are you refering to a nested sequence? Or are you having issues with Encore?

Updating to Premiere 3.2 fixed it for me.
Before I did the update I had a great workaround for getting the clips online again.
-Select all the clips in your sequence (Control-A)
-Move all the selected clips on the timeline (any point in time will do)
-undo the move (control-z)this should get all the clips in the timeline back online.

I agree with using the 3200k preset for multiple cameras. This is a situation where it is more imporant for the cameras to be set the same, than to be color balanced perfect.
Even if the color is slightly off, the cameras will all be the same and you can just color correct them with the same settings later. And as mentioned in a previous post, manual iris and trust the zebra bars. You will probably have to make adjustments from scene to scene. The theater lighting people are not very kind to us video shooters.

I can vouch for the EW100. It’s pretty rare to have any kind of dropout and they are very durable. I had a transmitter drop about 6 feet onto a concrete floor and it still works 3 years later.
It’s not a diversity unit, but it does have different channels that you can switch to if there is interference.

I think when someone manually saves the project, it resets the interval time to auto save. I’m constantly hitting
when I’m working and it seems like auto-save never does anything until I go out to lunch (ie. it’s been sitting idle for a little while). I now have my auto-save set to 5 minute intervals which works well for me besides the occasional annoyance of a save when you’re in the middle of doing something.

Don’t know what versions of AE and PPRO you’re using but you can take the AE7 Glow filter and use it in Premiere CS3 by coping it to the AEFilters plugin folder. I could not get the AECS3 version to work in Premiere but v7 filter is the same thing.
It’s very convient being about to use the Glow filter in Premiere.
