  • Timecode will sync between the AF100 and Hyperdeck when using the SDI connection. The Hypdeck also has a feature in the set-up software to “begin recording when timecode starts” which enables a record trigger even with a camera that does not support triggering. You need to be using the SDI connection for this to work as HDMI does not support timecode.

There’s no one particular task I’m looking to achieve. It’s just that as I incoporate more and more keyboard short-cuts I always have to reach for the mouse to highlight the clip, when I would otherwise be fine on the keyboard. If I’m at my workstation it’s not a big deal, but if I’m editing from my laptop without a mouse the shortcuts are critical.

It might be the 4GB file size limit. The Af100 (and most other cameras) will start a new file when it reaches 4GB, due to the format memory cards use to be cross-platform. Some editing software will automatically recognize this and show the multiple files as one.

I don’t know the answer to the b4 2/3 inch lens question, but the Lumix f2.8 Lenses are probably the best all around option for the camera as far as being high quality glass and being functional. They are fully compatible with the AF100. All the auto functions, image stabilization and readouts work and it is parfocal so you don’t have to refocus every time you zoom in or out.

in the 3-way color corrector, just scroll down to the “Secondary Color Correction” and it has a color picker, mask option and all those isolation tools.

the Panasonic Lumix G 12-35 lens is parfocal if you’re looking for one. It also is f2.8 and works with the af100 auto controls.

Is this something that existing AF100 cameras can be upgraded to (like with the PS mode was) or is it only for new cameras?

    Thanks!
I thought it might be similar to shooting raw files where the image looks flat until it’s color-graded.

Shouldn’t be a big deal working around it.

I don’t think the 160 has 422 color unless you’re going to an external recorder.
