time tracking for AE
Posted by Justin Parker on April 27, 2012 at 6:41 pmI’ve been using Flow to track my hours while using AE and other Adobe programs and have been very happy with it. I’ve been told it won’t work with CS6.
Anyone know any alternative time tracking solutions?

April 27, 2012 at 7:33 pmI guess that would work for just AE, but I need something for the entire suite. Flow also is always working with no need to manually start and stop the clock. I’ll be fine until I do the CS6 upgrade.
I’m so used to bouncing back and forth between projects and not having to worry about how much time I’m spending on each one.

I’ve had very good results with Easy Time Tracking – they have a limited free version, which I used for a while to get used to it (I had been using Timeslips, and expensive package used by law firms, but it got very dated), then purchased the full version for 49 dollars. I’m very pleased with it – it has a timer which sits on your screen as a pop up, and it lets you track the various phases of production (which you can customize), and will let you bill as well – although I don’t use that feature:

Give the freebie a try. It’s very useful, and you can generate reports to see where your time is really going.

It tracks application usage and open document usage. If you are intelligent about how you name your documents (for example, I include the project code in all my file names), you can use this to track working time per project.
