Also called “scope creep”. The original scope of the project has shifted into a project needing more man-hours to complete and your client should be understanding of this.
If you are billing by the hour like Grinner suggests, then you don’t worry about the extra time the client is asking for. If you have bid on a flat rate, the you need to go back to the negotiating table with new numbers.

After Effects will certainly give you the ability to manipulate the image and easily do zooms/pans on the sequence.
Another option I wanted to throw out there was using QuickTime Player 7 (not 10). “Open Image Sequece…” will give you option of frame rates and you can choose what type of QT you want to make.

John, I haven’t had that issue. I’m using HDMI to the monitor and HD looks fantastic thru the Matrox.

Good clients will quickly learn how much you accomplish in a given amount of time.
In response to Rick’s original question …

That’s the clients problem, not yours. If they only have 4 hours of work and book you for the day – you were booked for the day. Yes, it is right for you to get a full day rate. If they constantly overestimate (or underestimate) the number of hours needed, and don’t learn for their misspending of dollars, and ask you to change your rate, then you will be the one who takes the hit. Money is a great teacher.

When you did the mixdown, did you select “Save Premix Sequence”? If so, what bin was selected? Try looking for a sequence in other bins if that is the case.
Most likely, the autosave did not save between the time you started the audio mixdown and the time you turned on audio waveform.
Not sure that helps much…

Another option, I love options…
With the Effects window open, click the graph icon on the lower right. This will show you all your keyframes (and even the ones that extend before and after the clip – something different from previous versions). If you select all (CTRL-A or CMD-A), then right-click you will see the same menu Jeff was talking about.
You will definitely be needing to find keyframes that are beyond the normal Effect window. If you copy effects from one shot to another and the duration is different, you can suddenly find shots drifting and wonder why? This is why.

Correct. But I am wondering if you can even import the clip directly? This one clip may have an issue itself. Since you have been able to make this process work for other clips, there may an issue with this clip.
Another thing to check is drive space since this is a long clip.

True, true.

No, but if want to move a chunk of clips, this isn’t a problem. Have you used the new tool, “Select Right” or “Select Left”? These work nicely for doing what you want to do. If you have a group of selected clips and you don’t want to include certain clips (including Filler), Shift+click the clips to deselect.

Julie, follow Mark’s advise above. You can also create black in the Title tool.
I like to use the add edit to any track and then enter trim mode, type +5. and your add edit will move down in your timeline. Make sure it is exactly 5:00 seconds after your last video or audio by placing your cursor in the black and hit “Alt T” (mark in-out). This will show you the duration of the black.
