Sorry, just noticed a similar question that will give you more info. It only a couple posts below yours.
Best I/O card for my setup

Mark has you covered. The only thing I would add is this. Does the company have any legacy equipment like BetaCam SP? If so, look for a box or card that can handle the deck. Some boxes are simply for monitoring and you’ll be kicking yourself later if you need to control a deck that doesn’t have Firewire.

Ian, from the link mentioned above, find at the top of the page an option for country and currency.

Ian,
Just read the book backwards. 😉 Sorry.
I heard that someone is working on this, but I’ve not seen it yet.

First you need to transcode into MXF, then you could archive to aaf.

Sorry it took a while to respond. In the menu you should select Manual audio settings.
Take a look at Canon’s website. It has a great description.

Hope that helps.

[Michael Kammes] “Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1”
OMF lives in a different file structure.
Best way is to change the media creation setting in Avid, create a garbage title and save as OMF. Avid will create the folder structure. Then copy all your media into the proper OMF folder. Avid will rescan and you can transcode into MXF if needed.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Craig. I thought the numbers they were giving me were awfully low.

December 1, 2010 at 10:41 pm in reply to: Does 5D + Magic lantern + Juicedlink pre-amp = audio capture success?[Jared Cicon] “would we agree this would be an adequate way to capture high quality sound”
Short answer – yes. Long answer…”adequate way” and “high quality sound” yields two different responses. If you ask any audio engineer, they will tell you the audio from DSLR’s is, well, troubled. You ask an editor (or someone like yourself) who has to piece together all the separate audio and video and they will say it is adequate.
We have captured many, many interviews with the 5D, no Magic Lantern, and JuicedLink and have had good results. Just turn off the AGC in camera.
Last suggestion is to run some tests and see if you like the quality of the audio. I have a JuicedLink if you would like to run some tests. Send me an email and we can talk.
