  • Doh, that’s kind of what i thought. i had reinstalled this program awhile ago, but i think i lost my licensing. This time around i’ll be sure to back it up. Thanks…

  • weird… i played around a bit, and now the problem is gone and seems to be isolated to that single sequence/timeline i was working on. i did new easy setups, made a new sequence in XDCam, and HDV. threw the old 8-bit sequence on each of them and it looked great (save for scaling), then did a new 8-bit easy setup, new sequence…voila! it looks just like back in the old days (last week).

sorry to waste your time and space with this, but maybe someone can be helped by this. apparently the sequence got corrupted somehow? i dunno, but the new sequence appears to working fine now. thanks for listening.

    Thanks again!

July 21, 2009 at 7:17 am in reply to: Render Quality

Very strange, i haven’t had this problem before. Rendered an 8-bit NTSC sequence and the resulting QT is very pixellated/blocky. I’ve trashed prefs, same thing. I can scrub through the sequence and it looks great. Pausing on a single frame looks good, but doing the render results in this low res…and yes on export, i am choosing use “Current Settings”, but no dice…

    Thanks again!

  • This just happened to me on my new Mac Pro Quad Core. If I trash the prefs, won’t i lose what’s on my timeline right now? I’ve tried saving the contents of the timeline into a new project, but that won’t save either…

July 6, 2009 at 11:07 pm in reply to: Flash anim over transparent BG?

Ah, maybe i’m asking the wrong questions. My client would like a simple anim over a transparent background to play on his website. He has not asked for “Flash”, i was just assuming that would be the delivery format. So, I have FCS 2, and no other graphics programs. Can i deliver what they are asking for? Maybe just deliver it like you first said, the anim QT and assume that will be playable on the web?

    Thanks again!

    Stephen,

Ya, perfect, thanks for the reply. But if i wanted to deliver to their web guy a finished Flash file, i recall someone saying that i could export the anim-codec’ed QT (as per your post) as a Flash out of MPEG Streamclip, yet i never did find that export option. The closest was an “FLC” – is that the same as a Flash, i humbly aks? Or, maybe the best option is just deliver the QT to their web guy and let him convert it to Flash?

    Thanks again!

…and today it works. I have done nothing different. Even tried the same blank disc that was left on the top of the stack. Wierd…

Hmmm…and i’ve just networked my Mac Pro, G5, a XP PC, and my daughter’s wireless laptop. My two Macs and the PC can all read and print from the printer that is USB’ed into the G5, and my daughter’s laptop can SEE the printer, but it won’t print. ???
