The monitor is a Panasonic BT-LH2550, which should support true progressive.

I’ve tried using every 8 bit, 10 bit, and RGB output setting available. No luck. I can get the monitor to display a still frame, but no moving picture.

I’ll have to give technical support a call. I was just hoping to solve this before my client came to view footage with me today (Saturday). These things always seem to come up on the weekends!

I don’t know if this will add anything, but I just discovered that if I click View>External Video> Show Current, I get a still frame to come up on the monitor.

Sure thing, Ravi.

First, right click on the trouble sequence in your browser & select DUPLICATE. That way if you goof anything up by changing your settings you’ve got the original as a backup.

Right click on the duplicated sequence and click SETTINGS.

Click on the Video Processing tab: my guess is that Always Render in RGB is selected. Change it to Render in 8-bit YUV, which should eliminate your Luma Shift problem. Let me know how it goes!

Looks like luma shift. This is caused by processing renders in RGB color space not YUV. It’s a sequence setting called ‘Video processing’ – think it’s in the A/V prefs. Let me know how it works out.

…a little more info: editor sent me 3 reels, exported as a batch. Reel 1 loses all formatting, Reel 2 & 3 come in correctly.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks for chiming in!

Yep, I’ve rebooted, trashed the prefs, repaired permissions, and double checked that all the colors are checked under SEQUENCE>RENDER ALL. Only blue bars at the top of the sequence. I’ve even used render manager to trash the render files for this sequence & rerendered, and the footage is still awonk. 😛

Sorry–let me be clear. The footage settings match the sequence settings and I’ve been working with this footage for a couple of months –it’s a documentary–but this is the first time I’ve had this trouble.

When I experimented with changing the render settings, I made a new sequence, changed the settings, and pasted the footage in from the old one.

Have you tried copying the directional blur plugin from one of your functional systems into this one? Is it possible that the blur plugin is corrupt?
