I have a board in house with an ASMedia controller. I had the weirdest time with it. When I first got it and tried it with the Intensity Shuttle it didn’t work at all. When I tried it on the Ultrastudio Pro it did work but in SD only. Once I got it working in SD, it started workin in HD. But I never could get the shuttle to work for some reason. Now that we’ve gotten the Ultrastudio SDI we are gonna try it with that. But yeah…this chipset is weird.

September 28, 2011 at 5:53 pm in reply to: In The Dark with Blackmagic Design “Decklink HD Extreme 3D+” capture cardOkay, well your system looks okay. It’s based on a motherboard we have in house and use regularly. So I wouldn’t think that is the problem.
As for the transport controls being greyed out. This is to be expected unless you have an RS422 cable connected and a deck (or equivalent device) connected on the other side. So that is quite normal.
As for the “Can’t create Decklink Video Capture Filter” errror. Well that is an odd one and one i’m trying to track back for another customer as well. I have been told that the DirectShowAPI.dll doesn’t get installed on 8.5. This is important because live key is using that dll to do it’s work.
So as a sanity check would you be willing to run the 7.9.5 drivers and check to see if livekey works? We had some limited success adding the file and registering it manually, but it points more to a problem with the driver install than anything else.
If you could let me know that’d be great.

September 28, 2011 at 5:37 pm in reply to: Decklink HD Extreme 3D+ don’t gives external preview in play in Final CutYup, that type of issue is normally a file/sequence mismatch.
As Paul says, make sure the Sequence settings and Playback settings match. The easiest way to do this is to take a look at the file you wanna use. Find the Blackmagic Easy Setup that matches frame size/rate and codec of the file. Then use that easy setup (start a new sequence) and it should work.

September 28, 2011 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Why no support for 240p content on intensity pro?To be honest, i’m not sure there is a technical limitation that prevents the card from doing this.
Also, if i’m being honest this is the first request i’ve seen to be able to catpure this resolution in all my years in the industry. That of course isn’t making light of your request, just saying I haven’t seen it before.
I think probably the biggest issue here would be to adding another format to our testing, which adds quite a bit on the back end of things. Still, I’ll pass it on to the PM.

There is no reference timing on this device currently. But in general if you use reference with the device the output will be locked when using a format that matches the reference signaling.

September 28, 2011 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Ultrastudio 3D / Media Express not detecting iPad 2 @ 1080p ~ only 720 @60pIt’s my understanding that the iPad2 only outputs the “Desktop” at 720p. And video can be output at a higher resolution. But the problem here is that as soon as you try to play ANY media file the HDCP encryption turns on and it’s signal will not be detected by our capture devices.
So this could explain why the higher resolutions work on a TV but not with our devices.

I apologize for that. I have one of the guys double checking the voicemails now. We pull them every morning before the phones go on.
I’ll have that checked, it’s always possible that we missed it. But either way I apologize for that.

August 17, 2011 at 6:35 pm in reply to: Missing Genlock ON/OFF setting on Decklink Control Panel for legacy Decklink Extreme HD boardThere is no genlock On/Off toggle on any of our boards. Basically how it works is if reference is detected in the same format as the output of the board, then the output will be genlocked. If not, the reference is ignored.
