Unfortunately there is not a way for us to control the order in which the monitors are enumerated on the system. But typically it’s enumerated by board. So if you have two monitors on the main graphics board that’s connection 1 and 2. The Decklink board makes 3. I think FCPX just looks at port 2 for the external monitor feature.

Another thing worth mentioning is that sometimes a TV might have several HDMI ports on the back but one of them is sometimes marked HDMI/DVI. I have seem some cases where this does not work. Even on modern TV’s.
However that said, the comment about the color space should be taken with a grain of salt. I think I understand the spirit it was given in, but doens’t adequately explain the situation.
Basically, HDMI can carry both the RGB and YUV color space. However, DVI only carries the RGB color space. Our cards only output YUV. As such, the YUV signal is being passed over HDMI but once it hits the DVI adapter it no longer gets passed as the DVI adapter is expecting RGB.
This is true. However, it is typically no longer a problem as our devices can (via the EDID handshake) provide whatever colorspace a monitor device requests.
So, while the above statement was more blatantly true on earlier devices (such as the older TVs for example) it’s typically not true on modern devices.
That said…Bob is exactly right…it would be impossible to test all possible TV’s.

2> Well..there has been A fix which has corrected this issue for many of the cameras that were having problems, but there are still devices that have a similar issue. We are working on those aggressively and want to know about ANY model or device that people have had an issue with.
So…most devices are okay actually, but there were a small number of devices that had EDID issues with our Hyperdeck Shuttles.

If you are using resolve then I would recommend using the driver that is built into the Resolve installer. So if you have any questions on that front then just reinstall resolve and that should make sure you are on the right drivers.
As for the HDLink…the behavior you’re seeing is odd. It should only do an update once and if successful it should not bother you again about it.
So on that front, maybe try uninstalling it and either install the same version again or install a newer version and see if that helps it.

Well…without having more detail about what formats you’re using and what preset youre on. It sounds as if you’re using a different preset and just changing the output to Intensity.
So I would start an entirely new sequence to test. When you select an easy setup for this sequence pick one that matches your Frame size and Frame rate. As an example, if you are using 1080i choose the Blackmagic 1080i5994 option….you can choose any of those with the codec you’d like (prores is easy). Once that’s done…try putting that clip in the timeline again and see if it plays out.
Sounds like a simple setup issue.

Okay…I’ll try to answer appropriately. 😀
1> We don’t typically discuss future plans before we’ve made an official announcement, but I can give a few bits of information. Biggest limitation here (and there are a few others) are the performances of the SSD’s. Currently they are not consistently fast enough to do the 3Gig formats in uncompressed.
The basic requirement for 1080p60 is two fold. An interface that supports 3G formats, and the ability to put it all down on a drive without dropping frames. The Cinedecks can do both.
