You can use your UL5D with the older firmware but if you install more than 2GB RAM, you get freezed. We are waiting for a firmware update for the UL5D.

The last time they offer Platinum contracts with V8, thay have nothing new to offer with an obsolete hardware and the prices were too expensive. I remember to pay 3000$ for a Platinum Contract for a Media 100 XS. We also payed 9000$ for the Platinum for our 844X and we never received 844X v3.0.4 once Media 100 felt into Optibase

The rpboblem with Compressor is that its settings are set to Automatic Field Order. When you import a Media 100 Quicktime File, it understands the field order is Lower. Try to create a new setting changing Field Order to Top, and try not to set any value under the crop settings (doing this with different values in top, left, right, bottom fields cause interlace problems). Change only crop values if you put the same values in the fields.

It won’t work with your Media 100 card. You have a lot of options to run with FCP: Decklink, BLuefish444, AJA, Matrox (Only for video output) at a wide range of prices for SD and HD, but nothing as easy to work with like Media 100i or Media100HD products.

We are working on an animation film at 2K 24p and it works great. We are using an Apple Cinema Display 30″ to display 2K media and a HD CRT monitor to make the color grading. Inside Final Cut Pro you have 2K Easy Setups to start working without problems.
I don’t know the advantages of Kona3, but softwares like Final Touch will work better with Kona3.
