FCP and Media 100

It won’t work with your Media 100 card. You have a lot of options to run with FCP: Decklink, BLuefish444, AJA, Matrox (Only for video output) at a wide range of prices for SD and HD, but nothing as easy to work with like Media 100i or Media100HD products.

it would seem to me that buying a AJA kona 3 card would make sense. not only are they the best around IMHO but you may just find they work with your media 100 projects with a little bit of footwork (acc to derek)

A note of caution here. My understanding of the whole FCP & Media 100 on same hardware issue is that although it may be possible to make FCP run on the AJA hardware shipping with V11 – Media 100 have no plans to sell the V11 software/drivers without the hardware.

So whereas you could (in theory) add the FCP software to your V11 Hardware, you won’t be able to just add V11 software to an existing FCP/Kona system.

My advice would be to wait until the first V11 systems hit the streets and make a decision then.

If you have no more slots look at the AJA IO. It is firewire based SD only and is a great product.
