I have in my room two systems. One Macpro 12 core 2.9, and one hackintosh. I decided to use the hackintosh for resolve. Why?. Because I don’t want to spend my money in a cubix. When I have problems with the hack I change to the macpro. But near all the time I work with the hackintosh.

My config is, Ati 5770 for gui. Gtx480+Gtx470 for cuda.

    What benchmark do you need?.

I have realtime denoise (26fps). with this parameters:
    NR threshold 30.0000
    NR radius 2
    NR blend 0
    Red4k r3d at quarter debayer.

Do you test 10.6.7 with the old nvidia drivers + resolve v8?.

    I think not yet 🙁

But, peter, is possible to import a prores 4444 with alpha and select the same file for “set as matte”?. didn’t work for me. can be easy to implement?.

Peter, what is 3 channel matte?. Import 3 different mattes at the same time?

Ok, no problem what that. What I need is to improve prores performance at 4k.

Do you know why so much diference between v7 and v8?. Can you replicate the same problem?, i’m testing with prores 422 hq, because 444 has a lot of crash at 4k.

I think we don’t need windows davinci, maybe a low prices for linux license… I prefer to have more features with mac version than invest time and resources on windows version.

I was thinking to move to sony vegas with fcpx debacle, but the problem is “windows”, I hate windows. And for me prores 4444 is a must!.

Thank you so much Blase for the info.

I do a lot of green screen with resolve7 but only with mattes, and is dificult because i can’t make garbage to the matte node or a simple blur.

Can you explain a little bit more about your workflow i apreciate it a lot!. I will start a feature in september that has a lot of vfx shots and it can be my solution!! Because i need to do this basic composition with resolve.

    Saludos,

    Jose.
