A ‘closed CD’ refers to whether you closed the file structure during the burning process – meaning if you can add more files to the CD. Looping a CD (AFAIK) is a hardware process. To my knowledge, you can’t loop a CD using a command like you can in a DVD… Someone correct me if I’m wrong…

I export a QT reference straight into Sorenson (right click (PC) the sequence, then send to>encoding>Sorenson), then encode to .wmv in Sorenson. I use one of the defaults depending on how big I want the frame…

I should also mention the obvious – when you look at a interlaced file on your computer, it will look horrible.

I just want to know what job your in… I’m assuming it’s a joke..

The problem you’ll run into with excel documents is the one pixel gridlines. I think somewhere in excel you can increase the size of the gridlines. Usually, though, I present the data in a different way – using Photoshop. With word documents, I usually scan them in and bring them in as a jpg. Powerpoint will suffer from the same problems if the client uses 1 pixel lines – however, you can save each file as a .png and bring it right into the Avid.

Try using native dimensions instead of 4:3 on the AR. Also, use 601/709 instead of RGB. Do you not have Sorenson Squeeze? It should have come witht the software…

No, Avid doesn’t hate you. It may hate your system, but not you. You seem like a nice person.

Have you tried reinstalling your NVidia drivers as suggested here?:

Have you tried just putting your camera in record and playing your sequence?

As far as exporting your timeline, as much as I love Avid, it does a fairly poor job exporting anything other than Quicktime. I export a QT reference (it’ll be a small file because just references the OMF files – note that you CAN’T take a QT ref file to another machine, because all the references will be broken). I then use another program like Sorenson to encode to whatever format I need.

Post your export settings and we can see if there’s something obvously wrong…
