Make sure your timeline is enabled for firewire. I’m not in front of an Avid right now, but it should be on the bottom of the timeline window?
You won’t be able to do anything other than crash record via firewire. Grin is right – hit play/record and don’t worry about timecode.

First, to ‘stack’ any effect in Avid, simply ‘alt’ drag (hold down the alt (PC) or option (mac) key, while dragging the effect where you want it. You can do this multiple times.
I’ve never been a fan of region stabilization. I’ve never had a shot it worked on, and it takes forever to reneder. That said, have you zoomed in slightly on your shot? You’ll need the zoom to make the stabilization to work. It’ll make the video quality drop some, and that’s one of the reasons I don’t like that effect, especially working in DV.

You should be able to… I offlined a project on a PC XPress, then onlined it on a Mac Meridian system (it was 5 years older than the XPress version).
You might run into problems if your client has some third party FX on the project – other than that, you should be golden…

…But remember – upgrading to a higher version of Quicktime than certified by Avid will result in some REALLY odd things happening. Like being unable to export QT reference…

I’d say it’s worth it to have two seperate machines (or at least run parallel and switch to a PC version of MC to avoid this problem).

According to the Avid website, the qualified OS is 10.5.5. It doesn’t mean it won’t work, but you’ll probably have some weird and annoying things happening within Avid.

Mojo is a hardware accelerator made by Avid.
It’s also a beer, and what Muddy Waters had working…Where are you plugging your camera in? Try a different port and see if that helps
