Cant capture in AVID Express Pro with DSR-PD170
i have a pd 170 and avid xpress pro. i cant seem to setup the avid to capture or recognise my pd 170. the computer recognises it when i hook up the firewire cable. im useing four pin to four pin firewire. i set the setings up exactly as these instructions tell me to.
How do I setup my DV deck or camera for capturing?
You need to access the deck configuration settings:
Click the Settings tab in the Project window.
Scroll to Deck Configuration and double-click to open. If you are using a DV deck or camera that is connected to your computer by a single firewire cable, you only need to configure one channel.
In Deck Configuration settings, click Add Channel.
Choose Firewire on OHCI. You will get a window that prompts: Do you want to auto-configure the channel now? Choose No.
Then, manually choose Add Deck.
In the Device category, you have two drop down menus. On the left-hand side, choose sony.
On the right-hand side, choose dsr-pd150 (there is no 170 in xpress pro and ive seen it work set up this way before just not on this computer). Press OK, then press Apply. close out of avid. turn off cam. turn on cam to vcr mode. start up avid and try to capture… still nothing.it seems im at the end of my rope i know the cammra works, i know the cable and ports work, i know the computer recognizes the cammra. any tips on what within the software i need to do to make avid recognize the cammra for capture?
