What resolution are you importing them at? What system are you one? What are your system specs? What CODEC did the QT’s come in?

Sound Forge with Noise reduction is your best bet.

Avid Audiosuite is your second choice – normalize the audio, then apply a hiss EQ in the EQ tool…

Generally speaking (I’m NOT a lawyer, however, I’ve shot one… for TV of course)….

Individuals in a public area with no expectation of privacy do not need to sign a release. That doesn’t mean you won’t get Aunt Jewel looking straight into the lens in the background. You could certainly get on the next level and shoot down as your guy walks in, then cut to a CU of him looking at the line – then use long lens shots of lines of feet shuffling along. If you can’t ID the face, they can’t sue you…

    Just a thought

Hire an engineer. They might be a little pricey, but you’ll get more than you would from a couple of stuffy engineering bookes avalilable at NAB.org…

Find one at a local TV station (watch the channel first – you’ll see if they’re any good), a rental house or a broadcast repair shop…

I second the Lectrosonics – absolutely bullet proof… Unless of course, it gets hit by a bullet. Even then, it just might save your talent’s life… On the other hand, that might be a bad thing depending on the talent….

    Good to know – Thanks!

For some reason I was thinking the CV was used as the sync, or something crazy like that….

Check your video output tool (in the ‘tools’ menu). Also, make sure you cables are good. Sounds like you might have a broken pin in you S-Video cable…

    OR….

Are you doing component out of the Mojo? You need the special 75.00 cable from Avid to do that.

OR….. (sorry, it’s Sunday AM and me no have coffee…)

Are you coming out of the RCA port? I think that’s sync – I don’t think there is a RCA (composite) out…

I’ll be taking my ADD drugs now.

…Or you could copy (CTR/CMD C) the portions you want to keep and paste (CTRL/CMND V) them into a new squence…

    And read the manual 🙂

  • Are you losing ALL your settings? Like, you start it up and you name doesn’t appear in users box? Or, you get into your settings and they are generic settings, and nothing is the same? What OS, version, etc.? Are these settings you’ve saved since version 5.5?

Have you tried creating new settings from scratch?
