If there is any form of property mismatch between the media and the sequence then it will show up as Red in the timeline. Probably will still playback fine, but that’s a trigger that there is some kind of mismatch in the specs.

Yep. If you go into the Preferences then you can set the Media “intermediate timebase” to the frame rate you want to default image sequences to be interpreted as.

If these are AIC (apple intermediate codec) for say P2, XDCAM, HDV files then yes on a PC there is no other real option, QT Pro won’t give you the playback.

You can only use ProRes codec for non 3rd party required playback on PC.

Hope this helps, but unfortunately this is the way Apple have set it up. From what I hear though the Calibrated plugin works quite well. 🙂

All I am doing is adding the Canon Files into the Project and dropping them into a sequence for them. You can right click on a clip in the project panel and select ”New sequence from Clip” and you will have a sequence with the same properties as the clip and the Canon DSLR have presets that it uses which works great.

At export I am using the Presets under Format: H.264, Preset: HDTV 720p 25 High Quality, Essentially whichever preset matches the properties of the sequence I am editing, so 720 or 1080 the presets are already there.

PS: You can always tweak any area of the settings and save your own custom preset that will sit on the top of the list for future use.

I’ve posted many a video on YouTube without any failed messaging. However I am.yonder the H.264 codec and the .MP4 file type for upload and not flv.

Try that instead. 🙂
