Switching Clips On The Timeline
Hi,
On the timeline in PP CS5 if I have clip A followed by clip B (within a sequence of clips) and I decide that actually I’d prefer to see clip B and then clip A, is there a way to switch these clips around ‘automatically’? For example in FCP you can hold down ‘alt’ whilst dragging clip B and it will move clip A along and drop B into it’s place (you hold ‘alt’ after you begin the drag in FCP).

Same action. Hold down Alt and control or cmd.on MAC.

Thanks Jon, I’ve just switched to Premiere so getting the basics together at the moment. Very happy with it so far though, might even prefer it to FCP.

You don’t need to hold down alt. Ctrl by itself will do this.

Only using control will perform an insert edit, not a swap. 🙂
