Thanks for reporting your solution there, it helps whenever others have issues to put the solution or fix into these threads so its easier to find 🙂
It doesn’t always create an issue if the conforming is not yet done before you start cutting, but as this was such a long clip I guessed this was the possible issue.

Hi Ron,
If you want the razor to have a bit more of a “stickiness” to the playhead position a trick I use is to zoom the timeline out a bit.
But yeah, there is no way to see that the tool is in sticky/snap mode like with FCP.

I wonder if the conforming got corrupted, which you can clean by cleaning the cache in the Preferences.
52Gig HDV file is pretty freaking huge! You are best to allow the confirming etc (shown as a yellow bar at the bottom right of the UI) finish before starting to edit that clip. It could take a little while, massive file size.

I am going to guess this is an MPEG-2 export.
You need to tick this box:
To Mux the audio into the final file which will then be an .MPG file

Try performing a preferences dump. Launch PPro and hold down shift key until entire launch has run and you reach open splash window.

Sure. Just point the capture scratches for video and audio to custom and set to a folder on the external drive. This has actually been recommended practice. Usb 2 will suffice for DV, going to HD will require usb 3 or esata or firewire 800. External/internal RAID is better 🙂

Did you wanna edit the footage with the 4 channels coming in?
Have you tried, what was the result?
I think P2MXF might work… Hmmm. Walter Biscardi might be able to help you he’s done extensive FCP to PPro workflow logging.

Gday Mate, This is currently a known issue and is on the list.
I’m not sure about the workarounds, but there is definitely someone out there doing the same or similar and be able to give you some direction.

Could be the fields are interpreted differently to the sequence used.
Try swapping that. 🙂
