When I attempt to import .mxf files from a recent shoot, I get the error message: File video dimensions (width/height) too large.

I’m on PPro CS4, shooting p2 on an HVX200, 720p30N setting. I’m using the same preset in PP to create my project that I’ve used on numerous projects in the past with no problems. Camera settings have not changed. While I cannot view the files in PP, some show up in the bin, and they show a 960×720 size, just as I’d expect. I’ve opened some older projects and tried re-importing the problem files into those productions…sometimes I can get 2-3 to import ok, but then eventually, the same error message shows up.

Only info I found on the forums was 2 years old, and provided no resolution. New theories? Thanks for any help.

Try performing a preferences dump. Launch PPro and hold down shift key until entire launch has run and you reach open splash window.

Let us know how that goes. 🙂

I should also mention I’m on a Mac, so not being sure if you offered PC-based advice, I went through all the key combos:
Shift-launch – started PP, but no change. Recent projects show up on splash screen, file imports still yield error message.
Opt-launch – started PP with history of recent projects gone from the splash screen, so I assume this was what was desired. Still getting same message on import.
Ctrl & Cmd combos don’t launch PP.

I’ve tried importing into the project footage used successfully in earlier projects and still get the error message. Jon, I think you’re on the right track. Is there a specific file or folder I can search for and delete that might recitfy this?
