It restricted when its set to MPEG-2 DVD. Make sure any reference in the export settings is far from it actually being used for DVD and it should do it.
AME> Format MPEG-2 Set Profile to HIGH, and LEVEL to HIGH. You can set your own Height and Width. Your are restricted to then 1920×1088. Can’t get the 1200. Sorry dude. That’s a crazy resolution (1600×1200) Why do you need that high?

Looks heaps better there. It’s the compression that’s destroying the quality of the edges.
FLV looks pretty good. I’d be pleased with the look of it there.

The quality of the two images looks very different. On a TV screen it would look the same I’d say, computer screens always show ugliness that TV doesn’t.
Try Exporting an unrendered uncompressed bitmap frame and compare that.

Is the letter of the drive the same when you connect it to your computer? That will mess things up if it’s being cut and sending the renders to the file folder structure based on a certain Letter then its looking for that letter based file structure and not seeing it. (you can set the letter by: Right clicking the My Computer icon, select manage, (computer management) select Disk Management, select the disk you are wanting to alter, right click it, change drive letter and paths…
You can redirect the way your PPro Preferences see the cache files etc to that hard-drive. Close and reopen the project.

I’m in Melbourne, so if you are near I might be able to help you directly if you can’t get it sorted with your own software.
Premiere 6 won’t do FLV. Premiere Pro 1.5 won’t either.
Flash can and will convert a movie file into FLV on import, set by the user.
If this is for DVD, not sure why this is being built with Flash and not a DVD Authoring software like EncoreDVD?
10minutes of video I’m pretty sure would fit into a 4gig DV AVI file that can then be burnt onto a DVD.

You should be able to mix the 16:9 footage into the 4:3 project no problems. So long as you interpret the Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) as 16:9 widescreen.
Don’t adjust the width scale in Motion, the clip should cut off the side if it has been interpreted properly (as 16:9).
When you export you need to be sure to do it with the 4:3 aspect ratio and pixel sizes. (PAL 720×576 PAR 1.067) (NTSC 720×486 PAR 0.9)

I must agree with Vincent. The best system of conveying a clear message is KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Dumb it down a bit, make sure it’s as easy to understand the message as possible.
Fancy cuts are only good for music videos, even they are getting old and annoying now.

You need to use Compound Arithmetic to use the compositing effects of screen/multiply/difference. You need to place the composite on top (as usual) then use the “CA” settings to point to the layer you are affecting.

I should hope they fix alot of the UI problems and lost TC issues in at lease a 3.5. I remember that besides PPro2 they’ve always had a .5 version and in PPro1 they had the 1.5 then the 1.5.1. Version 2 was so solid they didn’t need to worry about a .5 upgrade. I really trust your “good guesser” gut (you know stuff the rest of us would like to know when it comes to adobe and PPro – i’ve been following you for years)

I know its a pain, but I would use an overlapping of about 30sec for end and start of a new miniDVCAM tape. This way you can always guarantee the footage you have is going to be kept. I know it makes like a pain in ain for recapture. But I don’t know if there is another way to keep your budget down? Unless you know of some tapes that can be broken down and then use a couple of bigger DVCAM tapes to cover the longer recordings?
