It sounds like this system is a little older nowadays. I’d probably try to repair install Premiere Pro.
Then if that didn’t fix the error I’d uninstall, reboot, reinstall PPro, but that will mess with your Canopus card so that will need to be uninstalled and reinstalled too.
I’m assuming this system hasn’t been cleaned up (application wise) for some time. It would probably work best with a complete windows reinstallation and everything get reinstalled from scratch.

That’s because the audio is locked to the video so when you open it in the source monitor you are looking at the original setup of the captured clip. You can only shift positions for sync in the timeline which shows you the result in the Program Monitor.

Pattie, Canopus Storm is just hardware used with Premiere to make DV projects with realtime effects using the Canopus card.
You will need to start a new project and use a Preset that looks like a folder called DV. The Canopus Folder will have its own DV folder inside don’t select this one. You can still use the Captured footage from the Canopus card.Once you start a new project using the DV preset that’s not in the Canopus folder. Try getting to the settings the way I explained.
Once you start a project you can’t change the project type. It’s started as a Canopus DV project it will stay that way and keep using the hardware with it too.

I’ve never had this issue, but fixing annoying empty sequence timelines might help with this issue?
Goto Window>Workspace>Reset workspace.

The reason why the Canopus interface appears instead of the one I said is because the project is a canopus project. If you open an Adobe software mode project (DV or HDV) then you will get the interface I mentioned. I don’t know whether you’ve been using the canopus effects, but you can import a project into another one. IF you have been using canopus effects they’ll be dropped. But you’ll have the same edit with any adobe effects used still in tact.
Just open a new project that is the same type as the one you’ve got (DV NTSC?) or what ever it is with the Adobe Presets. Then go to import and import the project.
USe the instructions I gave for the playback issue – hope it all comes together. You will probably need to go to Edit>Preferences>Audio related settings to set the ASIO to your mix desk.

Make sure that your Playback settings are set to the external device. That might help.

I have to agree with Vincent. There is no way you will fit anything over 1.5hrs on a single layer DVD keeping up good quality compression. VBR is the only way to go, but then you’ll be pushing 2hrs.
3hrs. I’d be looking to make a dual disc then. I’d see if there really needs to be 3hours. That is alot of information. Even movies that go that long always feel like they could have been cut back and still told the same story.
Otherwise you’ll need a DLT Drive, which EncoreDVD can use to make a DL-DVD for professional reproduction.

Are you sure the Newest QT version was uninstalled properly? You should probably reboot the computer after it’s been uninstalled and then reboot again once you install the 7.3.1 version.
I’d like to know why you want to render the alpha channel (millions+) the (+) is the alpha channel you won’t get a better quality than millions, just the see through parts will come through = a bigger file size.
Export some shorter tests, by setting the work area to a short length and make sure you set the render to work area not entire timeline. Test the millions only (the millions+ should be working though as I’ve used it plenty with the rollback without errors).
If that’s causing prob’s do an Microsoft AVI with none compressor.

There was a post about this problem several times over, its the new version of QT that’s causing your problems. check this link to see the post I made on it to re-download your appropriate QT version 7.3 for your OS.

Another effect to use is the crop effect.
Keeping the camera locked with a tripod and don’t switch it on and off between shots that might shift the camera just a little, ruining the perfectness of the match. Or get someone to do it for you touching only just hard enough to activate the camera.
Using crop you can then cut off the left, right side whichever you want with this cropped layer above the other.
The masking which is actually called a matte in PPro will work fine too. Any ability to soften the edges will also help blend the two shots as one.
