Could be a graphics card driver issue!
If it imports on other systems as Video and Audio, but not your’s there is clearly a difference in your hardware or the Application has become corrupt.
Clearing your preferences, or reinstalling are the two option there.
1. Clear Prefs: = Hold down Shift + Alt + Ctl while launching PPro. Do not release they keys until PPro has finished launching as it asking you to make new or open a project.
2. Reinstall. Pretty self explanatory. But you should uninstall it completely before installing it again and not perform a reinstall over the top of the current install (AKA repair install).
2.b there is a cleaner tool by Adobe to help you clean out the system properly before reinstalling. Here is the link https://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

The process here is to start a new sequence, then copy and paste all the edit from the original seq into the new one.

Best advice I can give you is that these camera’s only shoot these other fps styles as looks. That’s it. It’s a simulated look of 30p and 24p, but you are still going to be editing in its actual signal of 60i.
Seeing that you are using CS5 you can get the correct sequence by selecting a clip from the project panel and then drag it over the little New Item icon on the bottom of the Project Panel (it looks like a page with a fold on the top corner) and this will look at the actual properties of the clip itself and make a matching sequence.
It will use the clips name for the sequence name, I suggest to change that to reflect the name of the project/job and the version of the edit.

Then think about the timeline being separated out and then next panel switchable. This might provide you with a workflow you are looking for…You can key to switch between timelines then.

Try, as a test, I haven’t got the full math behind me here, but try to export with Quicktime and the PNG codec with Alpha.
Sadly Alpha eats HDD. Avid’s DNxHD Codec is free – well it was before the 444 version. I think that might be free too, but don’t quote me on that!
Look into it.
FullHD exports with Alpha will seriously eat HDD space. Perhaps shifting from 1080p to 720p can help out?

It’s not Dynamic Link, it’s nesting. If you make a change in the original sequence then yes those changes update with the nested sequence (being used as a clip).
From you explain I am not sure if you want all the tracks to use the transition as one flattened composite or just to have the transition affect only clip on track 3?
Can you clarify your desired outcome.

Hi Jake.
Do you have renders in this project?
Are you running the latest updates for 5?
There was a bug whereby the render files became part of the project file and it would bloat the load times etc.
It’s not meant to do that. 250-1000+MB project file just doesn’t sound right at all…. That’s whats making me think it could be this issue.

Sounds more like a hardware issue. Like bad ram or a funky mobo.
If you get weird auio. You might need to clen the cache from the preferences > media menu.
