  • ‘create new sequence from clip’ with canon 550d / 5d – strange settings

I am filmed some footage on a 550d that creates h.264 files. When I load the into premiere and chose ‘create new settings from clip’, when I check the sequence settings under the ‘video previews’ section it says the preview file format is P2 1080i-1080p 50Hz DVCPROHD. Shouldnt it make the preview file format h.264?

    Is this even a problem?

Its just that when I render my entire work area the video is still choppy.

    Thanks.

Premiere does not always get it right.
Use one of the DSLR presets.

Make sure it also matches your fps, 24p, 30p, 30i, etc.

The process here is to start a new sequence, then copy and paste all the edit from the original seq into the new one.

    🙂
