Jayson, you’re not understanding Harold’s point. DVD’s can only contain MPEG-2 files. You are having a problem getting DVD Architect to re-render your WMV files to MPEG-2. If you do the re-rendering, you eliminate your problem because DVD Architect will not have to render them. (problem solved)
It doesn’t matter who re-renders them, WMV files cannot be placed on a DVD. They must be re-rendered to MPEG-2.

Once you select the color to key out, you must adjust the Low threshold and High threshold to make a clean mask. Check the Show mask only checkbox to see just the mask and adjust the High and Low until the mask is completely black and white with no shares of gray. Then turn off Show mask only and you should have a much cleaner key.

If you are using the standard Movie Studio product and not Movie Studio Platinum then that’s your problem. Movie Studio is only SD and Movie Studio Platinum adds HD support.

Most people don’t realize this as the settings are often buried deep in the setup menu. Glad you got it working.

The audio I/O is determined by your computer. Vegas just shows you what Windows can see. You need to set up Windows so that it can see the Blue Snowball as your default mic input. Then in Vegas you simply select it after you have armed a track. You should refer to the Blue Snowball documentation for how to make Windows recognize it as the default mic. It should not be showing up as Line-In but rather Mic-In but maybe the Blue Snowball does things different which is why I recommend you consult their documentation.

I haven’t printed to tape in ages but I believe that it renders the files to the Prerendered Files folder which is set in the project properties.

Yup. I can’t get Vegas Pro 8.1 to capture from my Sony Z1U camera on Vista 64 but Vegas Pro 8.0c works just fine. Perhaps there are issues with Vegas Pro 8.1 and some firewire devices. I don’t have an answer other than to use Vegas Pro 8.0c.

You want to use the Sony Multi-Band Dynamics FX with the preset [Sys] Reduce loud sibilants (de-esser). Use it only on the sections that are problematic (not the whole file). This is best done in Sound Forge where you have greater control.

Your friend is correct. Try using the Sony AVC or Main Concept AVC as the render type. These should give you smaller filesize and web compatibility.
